Germany Medical Killian Septum Gouge is a bayonet-shaped tool that is designed for shaping the bony nasal septum and for submucous resections in otolaryngological procedures. It is also used in opening the bone of the canine fossa in Caldwell-Luc Surgery. The gouge has a blade with rounded smooth beveling to provide better grip on the bone, and an angled shaft so that the tip is on a different line of sight than its handle. This angle allows the operator to visualize the nasal cavity more clearly. The gouges handle has a wider end so that a mallet can be used to apply pressure on it. The Killian Septum Gouge is available with a length of 16 cm and a blade width of 8 mm.
